Ed and I took a trip to Southern Germany and while we were there we took a day to check out the Eagle's Nest. The Eagle's Nest was a 50th birthday present to Hitler. The last 407 feet up to the Eagles nest are accessible by a brass plated elevator bored straight up the mountain, which is accessible by a granite tunnel that is 407 ft long. The Eagle's nest is now a restaurant.
